She will cover the range of new flexibilities now being introduced, such as foundation apprenticeships and shorter apprenticeships, and how these changes are intended to support businesses to develop the talent they need now and in the future.
  • Patrick Milnes, Head of Policy, People & Work at the British Chambers of Commerce, will break down the latest policy updates and show what upcoming changes really mean for employers. Patrick will also explain how businesses can influence the national skills agenda through the Chamber network.
  • Tom Nadin, Deputy CEO at Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, will give an exclusive preview of a new local skills improvement plan, and what it means for businesses like yours in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. Tom will also highlight the local skills landscape, looking at skills gaps, and the tactics that local businesses are using to evolve their workforces.
  • Jenny Scrivens, Director of Apprenticeships at Stoke-on-Trent College, will share practical advice on apprenticeships, covering funding, incentives, recruitment, onboarding, and the support available to help employers feel confident in the process.

We’ll finish the morning with a panel of local businesses who will share their own experiences and offer honest, real-world insight on navigating these changes.
