Global events can have a much bigger impact on local businesses than we might think. From tariffs and trade relationships to regulation, supply chains and the wider economy, businesses are having to respond to changes happening well beyond Staffordshire.

Our next Big Business Breakfast will explore what those changes mean for businesses here, bringing together business leaders and experts for a morning of insight, discussion, breakfast and networking.

Taking place at bet365 Stadium on Friday 6 November, Doing Business in a Changing World: How global change is reshaping local business is the latest event in our hugely popular Big Business Breakfast series.

We’re pleased to welcome Richard Oppenheim from the FCDO Diplomatic Advisory Hub, who will look at the geopolitical picture, including global instability, trade relationships, tariffs and supply chains, as well as some of the risks and opportunities businesses need to keep an eye on.

You’ll also hear from Dr Eve Davies, Co-Founder and Communications Director of ProtectaPet Ltd, who will share the company’s experience of growing exports by 2,000% over five years before making the decision to stop selling into 22 countries. She’ll explore what led to that decision, the challenges of international trade and what the business has learnt along the way.

Chris Ratcliffe, Global Sales and Marketing Director at Cosy, will share his experience of leading the company’s international expansion, building distributor partnerships and taking its products to customers worldwide. With nearly three decades of experience, he’ll discuss finding the right partners and what it takes to succeed overseas.

The morning will finish with a panel discussion, bringing the speakers together to explore how businesses are responding to the changes around them and what could lie ahead.

And, as with every Big Business Breakfast, there’s plenty of opportunity to meet other business leaders, make new connections and continue the conversation over breakfast before and after the sessions.

If global changes are affecting your business, your customers or your plans for growth, this is a morning worth making time for.
