To register for this qualification, learners must be aged 18 and over.
You MUST hold a Verified & Accredited Level 3 Award in Emergency Care First Responder (ECFR), First Aid at Work (FAW), First Response Emergency Care (FREC), First Person on Scene (FPOS) Qualification or equivalent, which must be achieved prior to the commencement of any security training and have at least 12 months remaining until expiry.
For participants who do not hold an ECFR qualification prior to commencing the Close Protection Level 3 in Private Security Industry, will have the ECFR training integrated into the first week of the program. This ensures all participants meet the required standard from the outset.
This qualification prepares learners for work as Close Protection Operatives within the UK and internationally. It develops the knowledge and operational capability required to plan, coordinate and deliver personal protection in a lawful and professional manner. The course aligns to SIA requirements for licensing.

First Aid Requirement
Learners must hold an in-date Level 3 First Aid qualification acceptable to the SIA before the Close Protection qualification can be awarded.
Assessment
Assessment takes place through a combination of practical demonstrations, scenario-based exercises, written tests and professional discussion, conducted under SIA-compliant conditions.
Certification
Upon successful completion, learners receive the Level 3 Certificate for Close Protection Operatives in the Private Security Industry, enabling application for an SIA Close Protection Licence (subject to standard licensing checks).
